Toronto, Canada Alignerr Full time

Environmental Engineering - AI Data Trainer Join Alignerr as an Environmental Engineering - AI Data Trainer. In this hourly contract role you will work remotely, applying your expertise in environmental engineering to train and evaluate AI models on complex topics such as water and wastewater treatment, air quality, EHS & compliance, hazardous waste, and life‑cycle assessment. Base Pay & Location Wage: $35.00–$60.00 per hour. Location: Remote. Commitment: 10–40 hours per week. What You’ll Do Design advanced environmental engineering problems across domains like contaminant transport, mass balance in treatment plants, hydrology, and LCA. Create rigorous step‑by‑step technical solutions, including chemical dosage calculations, hydraulic flow models, and pollutant dispersion simulations that serve as “golden responses.” Evaluate AI‑generated remediation plans, environmental impact statements, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001, etc.). Identify logical fallacies in AI reasoning—such as incorrect stoichiometry or omission of secondary impacts—and provide structured feedback to improve the model’s “thinking” process. Requirements Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (environmental focus) or a closely related field. Strong foundational knowledge in aquatic chemistry, wastewater process design, air quality engineering, or hazardous waste remediation. Excellent analytical writing skills for communicating complex ecological and engineering concepts clearly. High attention to detail for unit conversions, chemical equations, and regulatory compliance logic. No prior AI experience required. Preferred Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems. Familiarity with environmental modeling software. Why Join Us Competitive pay and flexible remote work. Collaborate with a team working on cutting‑edge AI projects. Exposure to advanced LLMs and their training processes. Freelance perks: autonomy, flexibility, and global collaboration. Potential for contract extension. Application Process Submit your resume. Complete a short screening. Project matching and onboarding. PS: Our team reviews applications daily.
