Join to apply for the Cost Controller - Major Projects role at Pomerleau What you will do Responsibilities Project Management Control: acts as guarantor of dissemination, explanation, and monitoring of compliance with the Consortium Management Methods; suggests improvements to the Cost Control Manager when relevant; maintains communication with Works, Procurement, and Accounting teams to ensure proper allocation of expenses and consistent project management; prepares budget summaries within their scope and ensures data and budget assumptions are reliable; analyzes remaining expenditures, quantities used, key ratios and trends; checks billing discrepancies, operational disputes, equipment, unsettled orders, and staff/hourly time tracking; analyzes the monthly financial report, the entity’s overhead costs (staff monitoring, operating expenses), potential social and environmental risks, and compliance with framework agreements negotiated by the Purchasing Department; monitors various variance accounts (equipment, personnel, etc.); serves a vigilance role for the Cost Control Manager, the Project Control Director, the Support Director, and the Project Management team. Advising and Assisting the Project Management Team: responds to requests for analysis and summaries in the field of management control; proactively conducts studies or analyses; participates in skills development of all teams and leads training sessions on key management topics and the use of information systems; collaborates with project managers to establish budgets and input them into the system. Internal Control Contributor: participates in closing meetings of internal audit missions within their scope and ensures effective implementation of recommendations; carries out specific control missions at the request of the Cost Control Manager and/or Project Control Director. Interactions: maintains frequent contact with the Financial Departments of Partners and with Project Management, Project Control Department, Administration and Finance team, Works Directors, Project Managers, Procurement team, internal auditors, and quality auditors. Qualifications 5 years of experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Management or Engineering-related field Experience in Construction: asset Autonomous; ability to anticipate and prioritize tasks; strong listening skills and analytical mindset; good interpersonal skills; advanced level of English; interest in Information Systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP FI/CO module Pomerleau is a national leader in construction, delivering major projects across Canada.
