This role supports hard working, energetic and reliable people who want to contribute in a fast-paced retail environment and grow with the organization.Why this role is importantPharmacy Assistant — Full Time PermanentWhat you’ll doAutomation: Generate automation reports via Kroll pharmacy management softwarePackage medications into unit dose pouches using the automation machinePerform machine maintenance and troubleshootingManage automation workflow to meet workflow targets and schedulesInventory: Maintain inventory at pharmacy to pre-specified minimum stock levelsPlace orders for and maintain stock levels of pharmacy supplies or specialty itemsPerform inventory pre-count preparation and assist inventory count vendorsAction drug recalls and help obtain alternatives when products are unavailableShipping: Follow a step-by-step workflow process to prepare packages for shipmentWork with a team to use an automated process to package orders for nursing homes and have them ready for deliveryInvestigate and troubleshoot orders to have them shipped on timePrescription Filling: Follow a step-by-step workflow process to prepare medication orders for patientsLabel medication and over-the-counter products, prepare medication blister packs, and mixturesUse Kroll software in preparing and labeling prescriptionsWhat you’ll needNo experience required in PharmacyPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learnExcellent oral and written communication and teamwork skillsAttention to detailAbility to maneuver quickly and consistently for an extended period of timeTo be adaptable, you may work in different departments to support workflowAbility to problem solve and make decisionsA thorough understanding of quality assurance and delivery of service excellenceDemonstrate ability to work as an effective team memberAbility to prioritize work assignmentsAssets that help you stand outHigh school diplomaKroll software experiencePharmacy experience, Long Term Care setting experience preferredHow you’ll succeedAt MediSystem, a division of Shoppers Drug Mart, we seek great people to strengthen our culture.
