Part‑Time Professors/Instructors – Bachelor Child and Youth Care Program Location: Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology Department: Community Studies Position Type: Part‑time Salary Range: $80.63–$139.88 hourly Scheduled Weekly Hours: 2–6 hours per week Anticipated Start Date: January 5, 2026 Posting Closing Date: January 29, 2026 We’re excited to announce that we are currently building a candidate pool for upcoming Part‑Time Professors/Instructors – Bachelor of Child and Youth Care Program within our School of Wellness, Public Safety and Community Studies department. Responsibilities Deliver regularly scheduled instruction in the Winter, Fall, or Spring/Summer terms. Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, including educational technologies and the College‑approved Learning Management System. Evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of students’ work within assigned courses. Develop and create a learning environment conducive to success for all students. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Child and Youth Care or related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Social Justice. For instructor positions a degree in Child and Youth Care or a related field of study is required; Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a college setting; Minimum five (5) years direct work experience with individuals in child and youth care settings; Demonstrated skill in Algonquin College’s preferred teaching competencies as set out in the Professor of the 21st Century document (http://www.algonquincollege.com/employee-pd/documents/prof-21-expanded.pdf); Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners; Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a postsecondary setting; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset; Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Experience Considered an Asset Flexibility to teach during the day and evenings from Monday to Friday; Policy and legislation related to children, youth and families; Assessment and case planning; Online relational practice; Crises and suicide intervention.
