The Team As part of the Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) technology division, the successful candidate will add value by providing support, workflow and business solutions for in‑house and vendor applications associated with post‑trade processing for the Institutional Global Equities and Derivatives (listed Options/Futures) lines of business. The Role The Business Analyst Specialist (Capital Markets Technology) will work independently and with a senior analyst to define requirements, design, test, project‑manage and implement complex business problems for our Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) unit and other business lines. The incumbent will support daily operational issues, work with development personnel and QA staff, participate in Agile scrums, and provide ongoing support for all users. In this role you will: Identify, investigate and gather requirements to capture both corrective actions and new workflows to support mid‑office platforms. Document requirements and create tasks in JIRA. Assist in resolving complex, multi‑faceted posting problems to meet system needs of the Institutional Equity Mid‑Office, Cash and EES Trading Desks and their internal and external customers, applying business and technological knowledge to analysis, defining user requirements, design and implementation of systems solutions. Build, sustain, and leverage relationships with stakeholders to gather, validate, and approve requirements with a focus on delivering quality results. Determine the best approach for eliciting, analyzing, validating, and prioritizing requirements to ensure necessary information is captured. Participate in systems implementation by defining business requirements and processes, assisting with test strategies and test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation and training, and post‑implementation support. Assist with coordination of small projects and/or specific sections of large projects to implement solutions to business problems. Provide support to other BAs and Delivery Managers for Trade Floor and Mid‑Office systems, ensuring management is kept informed and issues are escalated appropriately. Skills University degree and 5‑7 years business analysis experience supporting medium to large‑sized projects in the capital markets space. Hands‑on experience with bookkeeping principles (double‑entry bookkeeping, journals). Exposure and understanding of listed products (equity, options, debentures, ETF). Experience with two of the following: Broadridge/BPSA, Intact Protocol, FIX Protocol, Fidessa (CTAC)/Flex Trade/Broadridge Itiviti. Knowledge of data modeling, process modeling, and user‑centred design in an organizational context. Solid business knowledge of Institutional Equity business. Business understanding of technology and applications in mid‑office and front‑office trading. Canadian Securities Course certification required. Solid knowledge of project management and the system development life cycle / agile development process. Knowledge of Depositories Settlement Process for Equities.
