AWS Infrastructure & Automation Specialist 2-3 days in Montreal office Needs to speak French We are seeking an experienced AWS Infrastructure & Automation Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who excels at designing, building, and optimizing AWS environments, and who can empower architects and developers with self-service capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning and scaling, and ensuring high availability through disaster recovery solutions. Key Responsibilities CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Analyze existing AWS CI/CD pipelines and design new ones using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and integrations with GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Automate deployment workflows for both infrastructure and application code. Self-Serve Infrastructure Enablement: Develop self-service intake processes and tools that allow architects and developers to easily spin up AWS EC2 instances and other resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Auto-Scaling & Capacity Management: Write automation (Lambda, Step Functions, or custom scripts) to dynamically add or remove EC2 capacity based on demand, leveraging Auto Scaling Groups and CloudWatch alarms. AWS Disaster Recovery (DRS): Configure AWS Disaster Recovery Service (DRS), including automated failover and failback testing, runbook creation, and compliance validation. Monitoring & Operations: Set up CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, and automated remediation for infrastructure health and performance. Security & Governance: Implement AWS IAM, security groups, KMS, and compliance controls for enterprise environments. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Document all processes and provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Required Skills & Experience AWS EC2: Expert in provisioning, configuring, and automating EC2 instances. Infrastructure as Code: Mastery of Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure deployments. Configuration Management: Experience with Ansible or AWS Systems Manager for configuration automation. Scripting & Automation: Advanced skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for AWS automation tasks. AWS Services: Deep expertise in AWS infrastructure services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, DRS, Auto Scaling, etc.). CI/CD Tools: Experience with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions, Jenkins. Cost Management: Familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and budgeting tools. Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional (must), AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional (preferred). Soft Skills: Strong collaboration, documentation, and knowledge transfer abilities. Preferred Experience Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments. Familiarity with modernization tools and approaches for cloud migration and automation.
