Job Overview Reporting to the Director, Corporate Health and Safety, as the Regional Safety Manager, Manitoba and Saskatchewan you will promote a safe and healthy workplace culture. You also monitor safety performance and ensure employees comply with Qualico’s Safety Program and regulation requirements. Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include Demonstrating a comprehensive and current understanding of all applicable workplace Health and Safety legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance across all business units. Promoting awareness of Safety Regulations and Safety Culture to all employees, subcontractors and external partners. Staying current on Health and Safety legislation or regulations, monitoring any changes, and adjusting safety program/policies when necessary to ensure compliance. Managing Certificate of Recognition (COR) program requirements. Developing and administering employee training for Safety and Health practices, regulations and legislations. Monitoring and identifying opportunities to reduce, where possible, Workplace Compensation Board (WCB)- associated costs. Establishing and overseeing the active hazard recognition and control program. Conducting workplace assessments, investigations, and reviews to determine compliance with safety program and policy requirements. A leader; you develop or improve the skills of others through effective coaching and guidance. Essential Requirements National Construction Safety Officer Certificate (NCSO). Degree/Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety, or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of workplace safety management experience. Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Satisfactory verification of criminal record check. Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint). Work Conditions You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours with travel to the sites required on a frequent basis. Overtime may occasionally be required.
