EBC is the ideal place to take on new challenges and advance your career.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Project Manager, the responsibilities of the Structural Engineer include:Work closely with field team to understand their needs and prepare concept, design for all required temporary structuresCollaborate with external engineers and internal team to create detailed technical drawings and schematicsComplete temporary works designs to include concrete form-work, critical lift plans, worker access, etc.Review subcontractor’s shop fabrication drawings & weld procedures prior to submission to ownerMaterial take-off and generation of bill of materialsSupport quality checks on completed work to identify any errors or discrepanciesSupport all projects through the fabrication process or temporary and permanent steel structuresProvide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and managementInterface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc.Ensure project is constructed in accordance with QA Programs and project qualityAll other duties as assigned.RequirementsPost-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering program or similar, or a combination of technical training and/or related experienceP.Eng registration in BC with EGBC.3-5 years minimum of structural experience, preferable on large infrastructure projectsExperience on hydroelectric dams would be considered an assetWorking knowledge of Worksafe BC regulationsExcellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.Skills and attitudes requiredStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.Advanced skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving.Ability to climb, work at various heights and work outdoors in all weather conditionsAttention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.Strong team collaboration skillsExceptional English communication and writing abilitiesConditions offered by EBC4-weeks’ vacation per year.A comprehensive group insurance program (health and the dental plan paid by employer).A group RRSP program with an employer contribution to a DPSP.An employee assistance program.Ongoing professional development and training.A friendly and stimulating work environment.In accordance with our policy, we will communicate only with the selected candidates for an interview.NOTICE TO RECRUITMENT AGENCIES, PLACEMENT SERVICES AND PROFESSIONAL RECRUITERSEBC inc. and its affiliated entities (“EBC”) have an internal recruiting department.
