plastic-film extrusion machine operator Employer: Polykar Location: Edmonton, AB T6Y 0N3 • Work location: On site Salary: $29.00 to $36.00 per hour (negotiable) • Hours: 36–48 per week • Employment Type: Permanent full-time Overview Operating plastic‑film extrusion machines, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring quality and efficiency on a fast‑paced production line. The role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to handle heavy loads up to 23 kg.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate calender and extruding machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films. Make minor adjustments and troubleshoot equipment. Weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulas. Place weighed materials into mixing machines.

Unload mixtures into containers or conveyors for further processing. Change dies and prepare moulds for production line changes. Monitor and inspect quality of material produced.

Requirements

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

3–5 years in a similar role. Language: English proficiency. Physical: able to lift up to 23 kg, stand extended periods, operate in a fast‑paced environment.
