SummaryThe Operator is responsible for efficient operation and production of machines and equipment. This position will ensure machines and equipment are operating at optimum performance levels ensuring exceptional quality of the product. This position must have a strong understanding of the machines, technically inclined and an ability to analyze situations to find solutions.The position must have knowledge and experience in plastics manufacturing including extrusion blow molding.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot equipmentFollow the process control parametersAdjust molding machines and perform calibration checks ensuring accuracy and making sure machines run at optimum performance levelsVerify the quality of the product through inspections and testingMonitor the rejected product and perform a waste countReport operational deficiencies to managementEnsure the completion and accuracy of all required reports relating to production and machine performanceConduct daily preventative maintenance on the machines Conduct minor repairs and replacement of parts on machines as requiredPalletize all products as neededTrain, monitor and supervise your assigned team, ensuring employees are performing their job dutiesBe a point of contact and communicate effectively regarding employee issues when requiredCommunicate with drivers and customers on night shiftEnsure plant adheres to safety and environmental rulesMaintain daily housekeeping ensuing working area is kept safe and clear of excess debrisSupport other departments as neededAlways adhere to company safety policiesEnsure all policies and procedures are followedOther duties as assignedRequirements High school diploma, GED or equivalent1+ years of experience working as an extrusion blow molding machine operatorAptitude for problem solving and mechanicsProficiency with hand toolsAble to perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsMust be able to stand for long periods of timeAn ability to remain focused and efficient while working within tight deadlinesAn ability to resolve issues in high pressure situationsExcellent communication and organization skills and an ability to resolve conflicts and problemsAn ability to lift 15 lbs.Able to work a rotating shift schedule High level of integrity and work ethicAn ability to work independently and as part of a teamEnsure proper PPE is worn at all times within the facilityLIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER (Non-Canada) The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
