Join our dynamic team in The Ottawa Hospital's Pharmacy Department.What you will doPharmacists provide patient-centered pharmacy care as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a number of inpatient specialties across different campuses, as well as in ambulatory clinics.About our teamAt The Ottawa Hospital, our cohesive team of dedicated professionals, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and support staff, delivers compassionate treatment to both inpatients and ambulatory care patients. We prioritize patient safety by promoting and implementing advanced medication practices while remaining actively engaged in teaching and research. Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants work together to foster a collaborative environment that enhances efficiency and patient care. Pharmacists collaborate with educational institutions to train students, residents, technicians and assistants, and participate in our continuing education program to improve skills. Our pharmacists provide clinical services across various medical, surgical and critical care areas and are actively engaged in selected outpatient areas such as Thrombosis, Immunodeficiency, Bone Marrow Transplant, Oncology and Nephrology.Training and orientationYou will engage in a comprehensive training and orientation program in a live environment, working with experienced pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals to achieve patients’ healthcare goals while maintaining continuity of care. You will learn from institutional experts who are practicing pharmacists and develop knowledge, skills and abilities in communication, health promotion, inter-professional collaboration, knowledge application, legal and ethical duties, patient care and safety. Applications are being accepted to build a candidate pool for potential future openings.Rotation/ShiftsDays, evenings and nights, including weekends, 8-hour shifts.For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.What You Will BringBaccalaureate of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized university OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as determined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists;Registration as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with an unrestricted Part A license;Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy;In-depth understanding of use, composition and clinical effects of drugs;Ability to supervise/lead/coach/mentor;Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;Superior written and verbal communication skills;Excellent teaching skills;Good interpersonal skills;Eligible to work in Canada.You will stand out withAdvanced Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Pharmacy from a recognized university OR Accredited Pharmacy Residency Program;Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).What You Can Expect From UsThe Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment for everyone.
