Job summary
Reporting to the Ontario regional director, the holder of this position will act as a project manager for ABS Group Inc. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the planning of tasks and the necessary follow-ups for the completion of the work. In this professional role, you will be tasked with upholding and ensuring the utmost standards of quality for projects undertaken on construction sites.

Responsibilities:
Office tasks (90 %)
  • Responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects, from planning to billing;
  • Schedule tasks and monitor ongoing projects (schedule and budget);
  • Coordinate the execution of projects across different sites;
  • Oversee the quality of work carried out in the field;
  • Attend project meetings (via Microsoft TEAMS or in person);
  • Validate and compile test results from the field and the lab;
  • Check the compliance certificates that the contractor plans to use, verifying their alignment with plans and specifications and provide recommendations;
  • Draft and approve technical reports;
  • Inform clients and superiors about the progress of the work and maintain excellent customer service;
  • Monitor budgets allocated per project.
Field tasks (10%)
  • Engage and collaborate with fellow ABS professionals on site to harness collective expertise.
Profile :
  • Education: To hold a university degree in civil engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in material testing. Belonging as a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Technical Skills: Experience overseeing multiple projects and leading a team of project engineers and/or civil technicians.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of both provincial and federal regulations.
  • Sampling Expertise: Define the need for sampling, determine best practices and assess the reliability of results.
  • Data Interpretation: Evaluate laboratory data and analysis.
  • Report: Draft comprehensive reports.
  • Communication: Capable of conveying findings to stakeholders, including property owners, regulators, and the public.
  • Driver license: Hold a valid driver licence.

Relevant du directeur régional de l'Ontario, le titulaire de ce poste agira à titre de chargé de projet pour le Groupe ABS Inc. Votre principale responsabilité sera d'assurer la planification des tâches et les suivis nécessaires à la réalisation des travaux. Dans ce rôle professionnel, vous aurez pour mission de maintenir et d'assurer les normes de qualité les plus élevées pour les projets entrepris sur les chantiers de construction.

Principales responsabilités
  • Tâches de bureau (90 %)
  • Responsable de la bonne réalisation des projets assignés, de la planification à la facturation ;
  • Planifier les tâches et faire le suivi des projets en cours (échéancier et budget) ;
  • Coordonner l'exécution des projets sur les différents sites ;
  • Veiller à la qualité du travail effectué sur le terrain ;
  • Assister aux réunions de projet (via Microsoft TEAMS ou en personne) ;
  • Valider et compiler les résultats des tests sur le terrain et en laboratoire ;
  • Vérifier les certificats de conformité que l'entrepreneur prévoit utiliser, vérifier leur conformité avec les plans et devis et fournir des recommandations ;
  • Rédiger et approuver des rapports techniques ;
  • Informer les clients et les supérieurs de l'avancement des travaux et maintenir un excellent service à la clientèle ;
  • Suivre les budgets alloués par projet.

    Tâches sur le terrain (10 %)
  • Engagez-vous et collaborez avec d'autres professionnels de l'ABS sur place pour exploiter l'expertise collective.

Profil
  • Formation : Être titulaire d'un diplôme universitaire en génie civil.
  • Expérience : Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience dans les essais de matériaux. Appartenance à l'Ordre des ingénieurs de l'Ontario (PEO).
  • Compétences techniques : Expérience de la supervision de plusieurs projets et de la direction d'une équipe d'ingénieurs de projet et/ou de techniciens civils.
  • Connaissance de la réglementation : Compréhension de la réglementation provinciale et fédérale.
  • Expertise en matière d'échantillonnage : Définir le besoin d'échantillonnage, déterminer les meilleures pratiques et évaluer la fiabilité des résultats.
  • Interprétation des données : Évaluer les données et les analyses de laboratoire.
  • Rapport : Rédiger des rapports complets.
  • Communication : Capable de transmettre ses conclusions aux parties prenantes, y compris les propriétaires fonciers, les organismes de réglementation et le public.
