Salary range for this position is CAD 153,000 – 186,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.Flexible benefits package that can be adapted to suit your lifestyleCommitment to continued professional development through development plans tailored to individual needs and interestsGlobal connections with leading industry experts around the world who are shaping the standards of our professionResponsibilitiesLead work groups or project teamsFocus on meeting client objectivesLead civil engineering design and technical support for the construction and modification of mining and industrial facilities and services, including calculations, design drawing review as well as field investigationsPrepare proposals, feasibility studies, preliminary design, engineering specifications, and contract documentsReview project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical quality and accuracyMonitor changes and revisions to designs and assess the impact on cost and schedulingPlan and oversee various construction effortsProvide technical assistance to the site during the construction phaseConduct regular site inspections to ensure design intent is met and that all rules, regulations, and guidelines are explicitly followedDevelop or alter standard project specifications to meet project‑specific design criteriaMonitor and guide design/drafting tasks and oversee the internal checking required on all project drawingsAssure the technical quality of work performed by subordinates based upon organizational standards, codes and general knowledge of engineering principles and projectsOrganize, plan, and coordinate own work as well as the resources assigned on a specific projectPartake in and/or lead EGBC technical reviews and internal discipline audits as requiredResponsible for sealing all drawings that have been prepared under their direction as required in the jurisdiction where professional designation is recognizedOperate within the company’s quality system and safety policy in all phases of assignmentsCoordinate and work with project team members in Canada and other Wood execution offices across the globeGive effective presentations to customers, suppliers and internally within the organizationCoach and mentor less experienced engineers and designersManage multiple tasks in a multi‑disciplinary team environmentDevelop and maintain positive & sustainable client relationshipsQualificationsUndergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering with a P. Eng. designation in Canada. Professional registration in one of the US states is a significant advantage.A minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering design within mining, energy and/or industrial projects of varying stages from conceptual to detailed designSolid experience in site development, and pipe and open channel hydraulicsTailings/slurry piping design experience is an assetSound knowledge of various piping materials, fittings and joining methodsExperience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing the ditches, culverts and pondsGood understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controlsExperience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designsExtensive knowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methodsCapable of developing creative yet practical conceptsExperience in writing technical reports, specifications and in preparing the material take-offsExperience in technical evaluations of construction contracts and material / equipment supply contractsExcellent organizational, technical, communication and computer skillsMust be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the futureAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
