Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Data Management Specialist to support a global energy company on a 12 month contract (possibility of extension), 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will sit in Calgary and come into office 3 days per week (flex). This person will support a strategic data modernization initiative, focused on streaming subsurface data management, improving data quality and integrating multiple systems into a unified platform. This project involves working with active data focused on increasing operational efficiency, with a strong emphasis on transitioning from legacy tools to modern, cloud-based solutions. Key Responsibilities Data Integration: Combine multiple data pipelines into unified views; manage live connections and ensure seamless flow. Develop integrated views of data from various sources both internally and externally. Visualization & Reporting: Build and maintain dashboards in Spotfire and Power BI. Subsurface Data Support: Manage transition from OpenWorks to Petrel Studio. Maintain and adapt scripts tied to legacy systems. Support manual data loads and reference projects. Database Management: Work with Oracle, SQL Server, Databricks, Azure SQL, ArcSDE. Handle API, ODBC/JDBC connections. Monitor and validate data quality during and after migration. Collaboration: Act as a bridge between IT, Technical Data Management (TDM), GeoSpatial, engineers, and geoscientists. Problem Solving: Provide practical solutions and support during high-volume transitions. Skills and Requirements 2+ years of experience in subsurface data management – well data types, PPDM, headers, directional surveys, reservoir production. Previous experience with IHS or Accumap to GeoLOGIC migrations. Experience with Python, SQL, and IronPython for scripting. Experience with FME, Spotfire, Power Explorer and ArcGIS. Experience migrating data from legacy systems to new systems (Petrel preferred). Integrating data using Spotfire and PowerBI. Ability to create and manage SQL databases. Experience gathering requirements and working with various stakeholders.
