Job Description Assistant Controller Position OverviewLambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected manufacturing organization in its search for an Assistant Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take on broader responsibilities, contribute to process improvements, and provide critical financial support to both leadership and operations. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering excellent compensation, mentorship, and long-term stability in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the CFO in overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting activities. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and accruals. Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Oversee costing, inventory management, and margin analysis to support manufacturing operations. Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash‑flow monitoring. Prepare and file tax returns, compliance reports, and regulatory submissions as required. Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate data and variance analysis. Collaborate with operations and leadership to deliver financial insights that guide decision‑making. Provide leadership, mentorship, and backup support to accounting staff, fostering professional growth and strong teamwork. Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned by the CFO. Requirements CPA designation or working toward completion preferred. Candidates with relevant experience who are not designated or pursuing their CPA will be considered. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting. Proven ability to manage full‑cycle accounting and support month‑end and year‑end close. Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP or accounting software. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating financial information for non‑finance stakeholders. Hands‑on and detail‑oriented, with the ability to work independently while supporting a team culture.
