Our purpose is to provide people with similar values the opportunity to achieve their full potential and to deliver that opportunity for great careers to one another, contributing meaningfully to the community we share with others.For more context, here's what the industry thinks of us, some of the impacts we've made in the communities we work in, and our latest impact report.You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator (Building Group) will:Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment/treatment and accident/injury reportsMonitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolutionProactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct themReview of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittalsReview and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittalsOrganize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First AidEffectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statisticsCreate, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first cultureIs this the right role for you?You have a minimum of 2 years' of safety experience on Institutional, Commercial and Residential Construction ProjectsYou hold at minimum a valid OFA L3 certificate (or able to obtain an OFA L3)National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an assetConstruction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an assetExperience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an assetYou have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulationsBi lingual (French and English) is requiredCNESST Certified is requiredEllisDon is proud to provide this unique career opportunity that provides continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package within an environment that is committed to inclusion and respects diversity.Go ahead and be yourself.
