This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including Vendor Partners, Learning Solution Architects, Program Managers, and Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The primary goal is to support business strategic priorities, enable people strategies, and impact key business measures through effective learning projects.Summary of day-to-day responsibilitiesProvide oversight on the design and development of learning programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and leveraging common content and learning structures. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in instructional design, offering expertise in various delivery methods such as virtual classrooms, eLearning, webinars, and in-class workshops. Collaborate with vendors to ensure the delivery of effective and innovative learning solutions, providing feedback on the most effective blend of learning activities. Maintain best practices in design and stay current with industry trends and performance consulting. Creating the content for this transformation project. Project meetings. Content translated. Core project team 3-4 members.Soft skills: Team player, communication skills, someone present, quick learnerRole OverviewThe Senior L&D Design and Development Oversight role is responsible for collaborating with preferred Vendor Partners, Learning Solution Architects, Program Managers, Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the broader L&D team (e.g., Delivery and Program Support), and other stakeholders. The goal is to ensure vendors deliver high-quality, innovative, multi-modal blended learning solutions on various learning projects that support business strategic priorities, enable people strategies, and impact key business measures.Key ResponsibilitiesTake a North American perspective and organizational approach to design, development, and performance consulting. Ensure common content and learning structures are leveraged consistently, supporting customization of design only where there is a validated business need. Provide oversight expertise on the overall design of learning and development programs, including instructional frameworks, content mapping, prototypes or drafts, narrative scripts, and storyboards in various delivery methods (e.g., virtual classroom, eLearning, webinars, self‑led materials, and in‑class workshops). Make recommendations for optimal effectiveness and innovation. Demonstrate an understanding of business, HR, and talent management objectives to enable vendors on a blended development approach via development, delivery, and maintenance of a wide variety of learning and development solutions, programs, and tools. Provide feedback on the most effective blend of activities, including instructor‑led, self‑led, virtual‑led, hands‑on, performance support, and web‑based learning. Act as a Subject Matter Expert with both practical and technical expertise in areas of design for all learning approaches. Provide deep subject matter expertise in design, including knowledge of external best practices, emerging trends, and vendors. Maintain best practices in areas of design and stay current in performance consulting. Participate in and contribute to the scoping of projects and planning alongside the vendor, ensuring learner experience and objectives are met in the proposed solutions. Perform vendor design oversight and successfully deliver on multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity and modalities (i.e., classroom, virtual, self‑led). Act as a Lead Designer, providing design oversight on vended learning solutions while ensuring alignment to brand, learner accessibility, and principles of diversity and inclusion, leveraging established standards and guidelines. Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise to keep current with industry trends and participate in knowledge transfer within the team. Interact adeptly with diverse groups of internal and external partners at all levels. Identify and endorse existing and new performance support requirements to ensure learning recommendations and interventions are sustainable after the event.Qualifications/Skills/Experience8+ years' experience as an instructional designerDemonstrated experience in instructional design and the application of adult learning principles for various accessible delivery methodologiesSkills developing eLearning using the Articulate 360 suite of productsNice to have skills developing videos using a variety of products (Vyond, etc.)Advanced MS Office (PowerPoint & Word) experienceInstructional Design and Development experience supporting the financial industry on complex, fast‑paced projectsFamiliarity with the use of JAWS and practice WCAG guidelinesDemonstrated global and organizational awareness, change management leadership, judgment and decision‑making, influence, and operational excellenceSubject matter expertise in needs analysis, instructional design/development, and program evaluation.
