Join us today and make a difference Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI‑MUHC) is a world‑renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI‑MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). Position Summary Under the supervision of the Director of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the incumbent is responsible for reviewing, analysing and negotiating study budgets with industry partners. General Duties Analyse research protocols to identify all required procedures and develop a detailed budget. Generate and participate in a cost‑analysis evaluation with appropriate stakeholders. Negotiate the budget and payment terms with sponsors within a pre‑determined timeframe. Finalize the negotiated agreement with sponsors. Collaborate with various RI departments as required (study teams, grant office, etc.). Advise the contract office as required to ensure that legal clauses are included in the final contract agreement with sponsors. Maintain a list of all relevant costs and keep up‑to‑date pricing. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Education / Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline with 2 years of experience; a DEC with 3 years of experience is preferred. Experience: 2–3 years of related experience in budget negotiations with similar responsibilities. Required Skills Excellent French and English, spoken and written. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to learn new computer software applications quickly. High level of accuracy and analytical skills. Solid verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Ability to demonstrate diplomacy, discretion and good judgement. Ability to take initiative and meet tight deadlines. Additional Information Status: Temporary Occasional (one‑year contract)Pay Scale: $49,722.40 – $92,346.80 (commensurate with education & work experience)Work Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul.
