Ensure all aspects of the operation are followed and enforced (e.g., safety, quality, yield, union issues, HACCP, BRC, etc.) on a daily basis, and that all supervisors follow established guidelines and expectations on productivity, quality, and safety. Liaise with other departments to ensure all plant expectations are met. Ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet company and customer requirements. Participate in or assign employees when new products are developed, and during plant trials. Provide overall management of a team or business area, including indirect management of individuals through subordinate supervisors or managers. Establish goals and priorities, manage the activities and work of subordinates, and evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure efficient work within a specific area. Develop team capabilities through continuous on‑the‑job and formal training opportunities and coaching. Monitor operational performance of the area of responsibility against approved labor variance targets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are acted upon. What You Will Bring Minimum three years of supervisory/management experience in a food manufacturing industry, preferably meat, in a unionized environment. Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, and food quality. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and other workplace H&S regulations. Analytical skills, with problem‑identification and problem‑solving capabilities. Ability to work or excel in a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi‑tasking is essential. General computer skills (e.g., MS Office). Post‑secondary diploma in a related field required. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level. Employment type: Full‑time. Job function: Management and Manufacturing.
