Base pay range CA$76,000.00/yr - CA$139,000.00/yr Role Overview As a Senior Backend Engineer at Lumenalta, you will design and implement robust backend systems, ensuring our applications are secure, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with DevOps and front‑end teams to deliver high‑performance applications that leverage AWS cloud services and Kubernetes. Your role will also involve managing infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CDK and monitoring systems with Grafana and Loki. We’re looking for someone passionate about backend development, cloud infrastructure, and automation. Key Responsibilities Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python and integrate with cloud services on AWS. Design and deploy scalable, secure AWS infrastructure, leveraging services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3. Manage containerized applications with Kubernetes, ensuring proper scaling, load balancing, and orchestration. Automate infrastructure management with Terraform or AWS CDK to ensure repeatable provisioning. Implement monitoring and logging solutions using Grafana and Loki for system reliability and performance. Collaborate with DevOps, front‑end, and product teams to deliver cohesive, secure applications. Automate workflows and improve infrastructure and application performance for low‑latency and high‑availability. Required Qualifications 5+ years of backend development experience, focusing on cloud‑native applications. Strong proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting. Extensive experience with AWS core services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS. Hands‑on Kubernetes expertise for container orchestration and microservices. Familiarity with Grafana and Loki for monitoring and logging. Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK. Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps). Experience building CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing. Knowledge of security best practices for cloud‑native applications. Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP. Location This is a fully remote position; candidates must be based in regions aligned with Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with clients and teams.
