This Role Is Not for You If…You avoid ownership of large, complex systems and prefer narrow, isolated tasksYou are uncomfortable building in a regulated space like healthcare where security and compliance are non-negotiableYou shy away from mentoring or supporting less experienced engineersYou wait for direction rather than proactively identifying technical improvements What You’ll DoDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services powering our healthcare platformOwn the full lifecycle of features: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and improvementDrive continuous integration and deployment across the platformContribute to innovation and ongoing performance optimizationEnsure code quality with peer reviews, testing, and strong development practicesCollaborate with internal and external partners on integrations (EHR, billing, accounting systems)Implement and uphold security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, OWASP best practices)Document workflows, share knowledge, and strengthen engineering practices across the team We’re Looking For Someone Who…Is fluent in modern backend programming languages and frameworks (Python, TypeScript, etc.)Has experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) to build scalable SaaS solutionsBrings strong database skills in SQL (e.g., Postgres) and NoSQL systemsIs confident building and integrating APIs for interoperability (FHIR, HL7 a plus)Spots and solves complex technical problems with scalability and performance in mindUnderstands secure coding practices and compliance in healthcare or other regulated industriesCommunicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersMentors junior engineers and contributes to a strong engineering cultureThrives in a fast-moving environment with high ownership What We OfferCompetitive compensation and health benefitsUnlimited vacation and flexible working arrangementsThe opportunity to shape the backend architecture of a platform restoring humanity in healthcareOwnership of critical technical systems that support independent medical practicesA thoughtful, ambitious team that values pragmatism, clarity, and long-term thinking Additional NotesThis role will require occasional travel to the USA and Canada for on-site campaigns, team collaboration, and brand activations.
