The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the execution of activities performed by Technicians to ensure that work is performed in accordance to established processes and practices and is in compliance with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection. In addition to people leadership responsibilities, the Maintenance Team Leader also performs and delivers preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine and on-demand services.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPeople Leadership: Leads a team of individual contributors; assigns, prioritizes and monitors work progress; monitors execution of activities and performance to ensure timely completion and adherence to all requirements including operating procedures, quality, performance and contract response requirements; guides, coaches and trains direct reports; provides input for performance reviewsLeads the delivery of as well as performs the following: Oversees and monitors the activities and performance of Technicians within assigned facility, ensuring activities are performed in accordance with established processes and requirements including environmental, health and safety, fire protectionOversees the proper application and execution of processes to ensure achievement and adherence to all requirementsOversees and performs regular facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to meet uptime objectives and asset integrity; provides observations and recommendations for enhancement and repairOversees and monitors facility by conducting walkthroughs, monitoring and inspection of mechanical and electrical equipment and systemsOversees and maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical building systems and equipmentOversees and responds to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systemsOversees maintenance of work order records within service management maintenance database and initiates documents for formal approval of work requiredCoordinates and assists in implementing preventative maintenance programs; ensures deficiencies are identified, recorded, escalated and documentedCoordinates and participates in facility-related projectsOversees and maintains tools, arranges for repair/replacement; submits expenditures on a timely basisProvides, participates and supports training, safety meetings, operational meetings, toolbox talks, etc.Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency calloutsAssists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner of work and service deliveryOther duties as assignedWork RequirementsMust be able to work shifts, be on-call and respond to emergenciesMust be willing to wear personal protective equipmentKnowledge And Skills5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experiencePrevious people leadership experience, preferredHigh school diploma plus trades training and certificationAbility to lead a team of individualsStrong ability to adhere to processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenanceStrong ability to maintain and repair building mechanical and electrical equipment and systemsStrong troubleshooting and resolution skills for building mechanical and electrical systemsCurrent knowledge of fire, life-safety and building codes and standards; ability to research and apply related codes and standardsHigh level environmental, health and safety mindset; ability to perform work safelyStrong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgencyEffective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarificationLicenses and/or Professional AccreditationJourneyman level Refrigeration licenseJourneyman level Electrical licenseJourneyman level Plumbing licensePower Engineering 3rd Class or 4th ClassBuilding Operator CertificationGasfitter I or IISystems Maintenance Administration Certification considered an assetAt BGIS we believe that diversity and inclusion is a key business driver, such that we never lose sight of its importance as it is woven into the fabric of our organization.
