Financial Controller

Job Type and LocationFull-Time; Primary Office Location: Listowel. AvIovbank is committed to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, and has built a strong reputation for delivering comprehensive solutions that meet the evolving needs of the agricultural sector.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and Analysis: Develop and oversee the company’s financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Work closely with external accountants to generate review engagement year-end financial statements.Accounting: Prepare monthly adjusting entries in the company’s ERP system, Spire, including labour allocations, inventory release, accruals, intercompany, amortization, etc.Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations. Manage ongoing relationship with Avonbank’s banking partner.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.Tax Compliance: Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and optimize the company’s tax position.Financial Systems Management: Oversee and enhance financial systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Collaboration: Work closely with the Owner, Managers, and team members across departments to provide meaningful financial insights and contribute to effective decision-making.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA designation is highly preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the agriculture or related industries.Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and taxation.Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
