The Shipping Clerk performs a variety of administrative duties in the Shipping office to maintain yard and dock integrity. The Shipping Clerk provides customer service to the CRC and stores as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete load scheduling by creating a schedule for work balance weekly and ordering supplies
  • Create Bills of Lading(BOL) for all outbound shipments, EDI or generic
  • Liaise with Stores for BOL. Create return BOL at Store request and provide general store support and communication regarding load reschedule and rush shipments.
  • Perform dispatch functions as needed and complete all driver paperwork.
  • Distribute store trailer seals and ensure accuracy that the correct seal is assigned to the correct trailer
  • Log all relevant information related to daily shipments, this includes, trailer seal, manifest, BOL and carrier number
  • Maintain daily shipping log and create security log for the guardhouse.
  • Upload daily and weekly schedule into Transaver. Liaise with the Transaver group to solve any issues that might arise.
  • Ensure that the trailer pool is maintained by ordering or releasing empty or full equipment to ensure yard and dock integrity
  • Able to resolve problems, and identify trends and communicate issues to relevant parties
  • Work in conjunction with Manager and Supervisor, Shipping to achieve highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Assist with special order updates as required.
  • Assist in the efficient running of the shipping dock when needed.
  • Stimulate continuous process improvements
  • Trainer for all 3rd party systems including but not limited to CP, CN Web portals, TRACS, electronic logbook initiative and WMS
  • Subject matter expert on TRACS related system issues – provide troubleshooting and resolution
  • Create databases and automate trackers for efficiency
  • Back up support for Toys R Us Yard Management system
  • Assists with resolution of printer issues, report issues and software issues throughout the DC
  • Comply with Toys”R”Us Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards and with the OHSA to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education or relevant experience
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, math and organizational skills
  • Must have prior experience with using computers and possess basic computer skills – MS Office (Word and Excel) is an asset
  • Knowledge of AS400
  • Knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and RF technology is an asset
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment to make decisions
  • Must have high initiative, integrity and dependability and demonstrate responsible, ethical and honest behavior in all tasks
