Mechanical Design Engineer (Onsite) Primary Location : Mississauga, Ontario V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our premier client in Mississauga, Ontario. Education and Experience Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of product design experience in Optoelectronic industrial electronic product industries. Experience in ProE / Creo design and drafting applied to industrial and consumer electronics or opto-electronic products. Familiar with Solid Works is a plus. Experience in CNC machining, injection molded plastic, die cast, and sheet metal part / assembly design. Precision opto-mechanical assembly design and manufacturing experience is a plus. Experience working with ODM, JDM is a plus. Familiarity with and being able to run basic software on Opto-mechanical or Electro-mechanical devices and vision systems is a plus. Experience in CNC Machining is preferred. Experience with 3D printing is preferred. Experience with GD&T, Design for manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing process is preferred. DFA / DFM experience applied to volume production products. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Top 3 skillsets: Creo / Solidworks / Windchill mechanical design, testing support, documentation and troubleshooting, communication. What You’ll Do Job Responsibilities Develops and tests on a variety of mechanical assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project. Builds productive working relationships internally and externally. Tests documentation which describes the specific mechanical functionality. Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers. Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions. Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity. Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards. Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters. Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments. Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
