As we scale our client-facing platform, we are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technical strategy, ensure robust security, and drive expansion into new markets and product offerings.Job SummaryThe CTO will be a strategic leader reporting to the Co-CEO and collaborating closely with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to align technology with business objectives. This managerial role oversees a development team of three developers, one QA engineer, and an IT Manager, focusing on scaling our bitcoin benefits platform, achieving SOC 2 compliance, entering the U.S. market, and rolling out a new suite of client-facing products. While hands-on coding is not required, the ability to provide technical context and evaluate code is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the technical roadmap to scale Block Reward’s platform, ensuring alignment with business goals for U.S. market entry and new product launches.Team Oversight: Manage and mentor a growing, remote team of currently three developers, one QA engineer, and an IT Manager. Foster a collaborative, innovative culture while guiding the team’s use of AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) alongside traditional development practices.Agile Processes: Oversee Agile sprint rituals, including grooming, daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demo days (held Friday afternoons), ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality features.Security & Compliance: Oversee the implementation of security measures by the development team, ensuring SOC 2 compliance and robust data privacy to protect client and user data in a bitcoin-based ecosystem.System Architecture: Guide the design and evolution of a scalable, secure, and reliable platform architecture to support growth and new product suites.Vendor & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to integrate third-party services, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with technical requirements.Innovation & Scaling: Drive the technical strategy for launching a new suite of client-facing products, leveraging blockchain and fintech innovations to maintain a competitive edge.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).8+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar role in a fintech, blockchain, or SaaS startup.Proven ability to manage remote development teams in an Agile environment, with experience overseeing small, high-performing teams.Strong understanding of system architecture, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and bitcoin-related applications.Experience ensuring SOC 2 compliance and overseeing security and privacy implementations in a fintech context.Familiarity with evaluating code and providing technical context, even without hands-on coding (e.g., reviewing AI-generated code from tools like Claude Code).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the CPO, Co-CEO, vendors, and partners.Strategic mindset with experience scaling a startup’s technology platform and entering new markets (e.g., U.S. expansion).Passion for innovation in fintech and blockchain, with a focus on delivering value to clients and end-users.Why Join Block Rewards?Join a fast-growing startup at the forefront of the bitcoin revolution, empowering employers to attract top talent with cutting-edge benefits.
