For more about the region, visit Work NW Alberta.The Job You Will Perform:Design of facility and pipeline mechanical systems, including equipment sizing/selection and piping design/layout/construction.Carry out detailed mechanical engineering work for projects.Plan, coordinate, and complete mechanical design work requests.Ensure compliance with all safety standards and legal requirements.Adhere to mechanical engineering standards.Provide technical support for the pulp mill.Maintain current control documents; familiar with isometrics and process flow diagrams.Ensure mechanical standards for rotating equipment, piping, pressure vessels, and tanks are current.Provide process safety engineering support.Prepare engineering design notes, calculations, and specifications.Collaborate with other disciplines to develop P&IDs and piping drawings.Prepare line, valve, tie-in, and specialty item lists.Develop work packages for field and construction services.Contribute to operability, constructability, and troubleshooting efforts.Ensure high-quality technical content in engineering deliverables.Participate in design reviews and ensure regulatory standards are met.Project Duties:Manage and deliver multiple projects effectively, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and cost control.Coordinate project staffing, development, and communication with regional teams.Prepare data sheets, specifications, and RFPs for equipment procurement.Work with procurement to purchase and expedite equipment.Review vendor drawings and documentation.Oversee inspection and quality control for fabricated equipment.Manage vendor scope, costs, and schedules, including change orders.Manage the construction phase safely and effectively.The Skills You Will Bring:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience. Registered Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer with APEGA, with the ability to stamp drawings or working towards P.Eng.Experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering of process piping; knowledge of ASME codes and Alberta standards.Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.Technical competence with keen attention to detail.Experience or background as a Registered Engineering Technologist is also considered.Ability to work in an industrial environment and familiarity with the pulp and paper industry.Skills in planning, maintenance coordination, conflict management, team building, problem-solving, and budgeting.The Benefits You Will Enjoy:Comprehensive benefits including health, welfare, retirement plans, Medical, Dental, Life insurance, Disability, Gainsharing, Paid Time Off, Tuition Reimbursement, and on-site cafeteria.How We Take Care of Our Employees:We prioritize safety, provide a clean and warm environment, and offer training and advancement opportunities.
