GIS Specialist

Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network. What you will do:Collaborate with the Survey and GIS teams to design and deploy geospatial solutions for the GO Expansion project.Independently plan and execute advanced spatial analyses.Develop and maintain web GIS applications using Esri tools such as Web App Builder, Experience Builder, Dashboards, Hub, Story Maps, Collector, and Survey123 within the ArcGIS Enterprise environment.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of core GIS datasets that support project decision-making.Produce maps, 3D scenes, databases, and other deliverables for multiple ongoing project needs.Support the development of a project-wide 3D digital twin.Travel to project sites within Ontario (primarily GTA) up to 20% of the time.Perform other GIS-related duties as required. What you bring:Post-secondary degree or diploma in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.3–5 years of experience with Esri GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online).Proficient in creating, managing, editing, mapping, and analyzing spatial data.Strong command of geoprocessing tools and data sharing workflows.High standards for data organization and quality control (e.g., clean attribute tables, configured popups, consistent symbology, naming conventions).Eagerness to learn and grow within the GIS discipline.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to act as a GIS liaison across project teams and train users on GIS capabilities.Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.Familiarity with CAD and BIM software and formats (DWG, DGN, RVT). Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$85,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration.
