Brandt is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician – Material Handling for our Edmonton location. The Heavy Equipment Technician – Material Handling independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis. Resolves customer issues to their satisfaction on a timely basis. Duties & Responsibilities Financial Performance Work within budgets and approvals provided by the Service Manager. Maintain a high level of productivity, efficiency, and gross margin. Maintain a quality of work metric of 98% (% of work completed right the first time). Work Systems And Procedures Accurately record all work done for customer and warranty records. Maintain current product knowledge of equipment specific to industry/branch location. Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner. Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments. Must maintain thorough understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) systems and standards, and a commitment to a safe working environment, ensuring all employees and customers are kept safe at all times. Ensure knowledge and compliance of proper procedure for disposal of hazardous waste material. Work within the guidelines set by the directors and managers. Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Material Handling Service Manager or the Material Handling Service Department Foreman. Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge. This may also include training related industry-specific technologies. Maintain and care for department tools, equipment, and vehicles. Mentor and oversee apprentices. Diagnostic And Mechanical, Electrical, Or Hydraulic Repair Perform basic/complex power equipment diagnostics to determine repair needs. Diagnose and repair all related systems (disassembly, assembly, and repair). Perform customer, manufacturer, or government inspections on equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (such as forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters). Utilize drill presses, grinders, air compressors, and common hand/power tools to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment. Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments (Work Order submitted immediately at completion of job). #J-18808-Ljbffr
