General Store Manager

Trailhead Paddle Shack is seeking a dynamic and passionate Manager to join our management team at our flagship store in Ottawa. This role is perfect for an outdoor enthusiast with strong leadership skills, a customer-first mindset, and a knack for operational excellence. As a key member of our team, you’ll help drive our vision forward, ensuring our customers and staff thrive in an environment that celebrates adventure and community.Key Responsibilities:Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of outdoor enthusiasts, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.Oversee daily operations to ensure exceptional service, drawing on your expertise to assist customers with paddling, camping, skiing, and other outdoor gear needs.Manage inventory, optimize product displays, and drive sales strategies that align with seasonal trends and customer demand.Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming store environment, overseeing scheduling, budgeting, and compliance with company policies.Create protocols to protect the store, including theft management.Contribute innovative ideas to enhance our offerings, improve processes, and support the long-term success of the business.Qualifications:3+ years of retail management or supervisory experience, preferably in the outdoor or specialty retail sector.Passion for outdoor activities (paddling, camping, hiking, skiing, etc.) and a strong knowledge of related gear and apparel.Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with staff, customers, and vendors.Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and basic office tools.Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons as needed.Why Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits package, including staff discounts on top-tier gear.Be part of a tight-knit team that shares your love for the outdoors.Opportunities for growth within a respected, locally owned business.Work in a stunning, purpose-built store designed with adventure in mind.How to Apply:Ready to lead with passion and explore new horizons with Trailhead Paddle Shack?
