Our client is actively seeking a Structural Engineer – Project Lead to join their dynamic team in Kitchener, Ontario. If you’re enthusiastic about taking on fresh challenges in the field of engineering, we’re eager to learn more about you

- Understanding and applying structural design guidelines and regulations, particularly in wood frame construction.
- Creating accurate structural engineering designs and documents.
- Setting up AutoCAD drawings according to company standards and preparing drawings from sketches or mark-ups.
- Managing project tasks within set timeframes and budgets.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and exploring ways to enhance efficiency.
- Coordinating with team members across various projects to meet milestones.
- Collaborating on projects from inception to completion, ensuring structural coordination with other disciplines.
- Conducting site investigations and preparing field review reports when necessary.
- 4+ years of experience in Structural Engineering focused on building design.
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Code (OBC), particularly Part 9.
- Experience with wood frame construction is essential.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with Woodworks software is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of construction materials and practices, or construction work experience, is advantageous.
- Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and handling competing priorities.
- Access to a vehicle for site reviews and inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized Canadian University or equivalent.
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
