Overview The Manager, Clinical Operations is accountable for ensuring excellence in the provision of patient centered care within a defined clinical area(s). The Manager, Clinical Operations provides leadership and direction for the operations, management, utilization, risk management, and quality improvement within the assigned clinical area(s), and applies management theory and concepts to leading, staffing, monitoring, evaluating, and data gathering including the development of relevant outcome measures pertinent to the clinical area(s). The Manager, Clinical Operations is accountable for: efficient, effective utilization of approved physical, financial, and human resources; guiding and coordinating activities of the clinical area(s) in accordance with professional standards; supporting the goals and strategic direction of Northern Health. University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) Largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region and a hub for specialized health services. Teaching hospital providing undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia. Hosts residents in UBC's Family Practice Residency Program and is a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions. Benefitted from nearly $100 million in expansions, renovations and new equipment since 2001 including an expanded emergency room, updated ICU, state‑of‑the‑art maternal‑child care centre, MRI unit and a new Acute Care Tower estimated to open in winter 2031. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a health‑related field. A minimum of five (5) years recent, related clinical experience, including two years in a leadership role. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current registration with the relevant professional college or association preferred. Ability to define own continuing education needs and maintain competency through reading literature, management workshops, seminars, and available educational offerings.
