R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is currently seeking a Water & Wastewater Engineer with 7 – 12 years of experience to join our Water and Wastewater Vertical Infrastructure team. As a part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects involving the assessment, planning, study, design, approval, and construction administration of municipal and some private sector water and wastewater infrastructure.This position offers the flexibility to be based out of one of several office locations, including Mississauga, Guelph, Collingwood, Hamilton, Orangeville, or Woodstock. Occasional travel to other offices is a requirement.Role SpecificsReporting to Senior Water and Wastewater Engineers, the position will involve carrying out the following tasks, and includes supporting a team of engineers and technicians, to assist in their delivery:Assessment, planning, study, design, approval and construction administration of water supply, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution projects and wastewater collection, pumping treatment and disposalSupporting senior engineers and project managers in the production of preliminary and detailed design drawings and preparation of related reports, coordination of approvals, development of construction cost estimates, and liaising with clients, sub-consultants and contractorsSupporting construction inspectors and contract administrators in the field and office to become familiar with construction techniques and challengesWorking under the guidance of project managers and management staff across the company to develop design skills and ensure design quality standards are metCollaborating with and contributing to multi-office project teams to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of clientsProviding engineering support to multi-discipline project teams as neededPreparing proposals, project reports, design documents, permit applications, environmental assessment and environmental screening reportsParticipating in planning and feasibility studiesConducting condition assessments of water and wastewater facilitiesAssisting in the development of engineering students, engineers-in-training (EITs) and junior project engineers/technologists;Other duties as assigned.Professional Knowledge, Skills & QualificationsThe following qualifications, experience and skills are required:An engineering degree in a related discipline7-12 years of related experienceLicensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of OntarioKnowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes as well as relevant agency and industry standards, guideline and best practicesStrong analytical skillsExcellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrentlyThe following experience and skills are considered assets:Experience with horizontal municipal infrastructure design, project management, contract administration and client relationships is an asset but not a requirementExperience with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, Civil 3D and MicroStationWaterCad, InfoWater and SewerCAD modellingMS Office and MS ProjectWhy Choose Burnside?Are you interested in working for an employer with a 5-decade track record of building a great reputation both internally with their staff and externally with their clients?
