Responsibilities The Housekeeping Department is responsible for the provision of a clean, safe, functional and home‑like environment for residents, staff and visitors. This position will ensure that the overall operation of the departments is done in accordance with established policies and procedures including effectively assigning work and time schedules to provide adequate service, ensuring the department operates within approved budget, ensuring that work equipment is operational and safe to use, ensuring that work is accomplished in a safe and effective manner, and also ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff and visitors. Qualifications Completion of High School and any combination of education and training in the areas of housekeeping and/or laundry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, organizational skills, and possess strong interpersonal skills gained from leadership and management positions. Knowledge of a health care environment and basic computer skills would be considered a definite asset. Completion of OHA Housekeeping Certification or Housekeeping Supervisors Course is considered an asset.
