Retail Assistant Manager – Staples Canada Apply for the Retail Assistant Manager position at Staples Canada. Overview As an Assistant Manager, you will enable operational and sales excellence, ensuring customers and associates have exceptional experiences. You will break down barriers, actively seek partnerships, and use curiosity and a solutions mindset to build relationships and drive business growth. Responsibilities Customer Experience: Lead and coach team to provide exceptional service, engage customers, offer tailored products, handle escalated situations, and maintain long‑term partnerships. Sales Leadership: Inspire and recognize team, enable strong sales‑focused partnerships, use metrics reports to create action plans and achieve results. Team Development: Attract, train, develop, and engage associates; provide clear coaching, feedback, manage performance appraisals and career action plans. Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Asset Protection, Privacy, Policies and Procedures; manage inventory, merchandising and brand standards. Communication: Maintain daily communication with team, ensure consistency and execution of all sales and customer engagement tools. Qualifications 2‑3 years of retail management experience, with accountability for sales and service targets. Experience leading, coaching, developing talent, and managing teams with a customer and sales‑focused approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; inspire people with your communication. Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment with strong prioritization, organization, and multitasking.
