## **Company:**Finning Canada## **Number of Openings:**1## **Worker Type:**Permanent## **Position Overview:**Finning is seeking a results-driven and safety-focused Manager, Service Operations to lead our Red Deer Construction Industry and Power & Energy shop and field service team. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee customer interactions, service scheduling, and shop/field operations to ensure timely, high-quality P&E rebuilds, service and maintenance. You’ll be accountable for the full-service lifecycle—from resource planning to work order closure—while fostering a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.## **Job Description:*** Champion a healthy and safe work environment by leading safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with all standards and procedures.* Provide day-to-day leadership for service staff, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.* Review service results daily, weekly, and monthly, and manage Service Work in Progress (SWIP) to ensure operational efficiency.* Ensure employees are properly trained and consistently follow safe work procedures.* Build and maintain strong relationships with unionized employees and support a positive labor environment.* Ensure timely closure and invoicing of work orders to maintain financial accuracy.* Interpret and act on KPIs related to branch profitability and service performance.* Represent Finning professionally in all customer and internal interactions.**Qualifications:*** Previous experience working with Caterpillar equipment and engines.* Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal) is an asset.* Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in a service operations environment.* Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.* Excellent communication skills to engage, motivate, and lead teams.* Proven customer relationship management skills.* Solid understanding of CAT and non-CAT warranties, product health, and service structures.* Knowledge of the National Safety Code (NSC) and OH&S requirements.* Familiarity with collective agreements and performance management processes.* Strong business acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.**Note:*** This position is based out of our D30 Red Deer location.* Permanent, full-time role.* Monday – Friday, 5x2 shift.* Flexible option plan benefits with varying levels of coverage from day one.* Matching pension contributions to help you save for the future.* Matching share purchase program.* Employee Share Purchase Plan and RRSP options.* Paid vacation with an increasing allowance based on years of seniority.At Finning, we prioritize creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
