Senior Financial Analyst Billing Status: 1 Regular Full-Time Position Salary Range: $92,151 to $115,189 per annum plus benefits Hiring Range: $92,151 to $103,670 per annum plus benefits Location and Work Mode: 2 Copper Road, Brampton - Hybrid *see below for more details about this work mode Hours of work: 35 hours per week The Role We are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Operations Support group to provide financial/system support to the Public Works division. This position will support stormwater billing using Oracle CCBCS software. This position provides comprehensive data management and reporting support to the stormwater billing service to provide external clients with accurate stormwater billing and revenue recovery. What You Will Do In This Role Create and run various data management and financial management reports (including forecasting) according to the agreed service level with external clients using SQL queries Manage external client’s stormwater billing data within Peel Region’s billing software through the creation of quality assurance reports via SQL and Excel Provide financial analysis and modeling for various reporting components of the stormwater billing Oversee and monitor the interface process for stormwater billing data updates between Peel Region and external clients Analyze and interpret detailed reports and complex data and develop recommendations or actions Analyze various aspects of stormwater billing and make recommendations to management on streamlining processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness Coordinate any system(s) testing when stormwater data is impacted Engage in extensive problem-solving tasks including utilizing advanced research techniques, extensive consultations with subject matter experts, employing independent and sound judgment Collaborate with internal partners to support program requirements Other duties as assigned What The Role Requires University degree in Finance, Data Management or Computer Science related discipline with 5 years of experience in a related environment An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered Sound understanding of accounting principles Ability to conduct independent research and analysis by applying knowledge of business analysis and process improvement techniques Proficient understanding of SQL query language and database management to develop various reports meeting client’s requirements Ability to co‑ordinate processes, consolidate and summarize information from a variety of sources and make recommendations for synergies Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills Excellent knowledge of financial/program management principles and practices Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and able to identify and respond quickly to emerging issues Skills And Abilities Advanced knowledge of Oracle CCBCS Analytical and critical thinking skills Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written Demonstrated ability to create custom SQL queries and Excel reports, review and update SQL code Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias Benefits and Perks Join us—be bold, think big, and help shape a better tomorrow. A minimum of two days per week on‑site is expected along with occasional travel to attend site inspections or meetings at Regional facilities or as operational needs evolve.
