Our Global Infrastructure Advisory team is a multi-disciplinary group of capital project managers, engineers, consultants, accountants, economists, and other specialists who help clients understand and manage project risks. We support public and private sector clients in developing strategies to realize major infrastructure projects by providing planning, transaction structuring, value-for-money, procurement, delivery, and asset management and operations advisory services. The team in Canada supports clients locally, regionally and nationally. As part of the team, you will deliver high-quality services to top-tier public and private sector clients across industries including social infrastructure, energy, resources, agri-food, utilities, real estate, and transportation, and assist with business development in western Canada and nationally.What You Will DoThe services the successful candidate will provide to public and/or private sector clients may include:Project planning and strategyFeasibility, business case, economic and market analysisOperational and organizational reviewsProject performance reviews and health checksProject funding and financing model development and analysisProject risk assessment, including identification and quantification of risksProcurement strategy development and procurement process managementDevelopment and implementation of project governance and project management frameworks and related delivery toolsCommercial structuring of complex contracts and contract managementProject implementation advice through design and constructionProject controls setup and/or monitoring (cost and schedule management, risk management, change control, reporting)Advisory services related to major organizational transformation (especially those enabled by information technology or capital projects)The responsibilities of the successful candidate in delivering these services over the course of specific client engagements will include:Leading and managing teams of KPMG advisory personnelProviding leadership, direction, and guidance to senior and executive level client stakeholdersDefining and presenting client materials including status reports, project reports and presentationsOverseeing core analysis responsibilities including primary and secondary research, quantitative data collection and analysis, financial modelling, business analysis, and applying methodologies to achieve client objectivesDeveloping materials (frameworks, tools, documentation, etc.) that support improved project deliveryDeveloping and managing work plans with respect to scope, budget, schedule, and quality of work/deliverablesBusiness DevelopmentThe successful candidate will help grow the business through:Leadership in business development activitiesDevelopment of relationships with other practice areas within KPMG and across officesMaintenance and development of trusted advisor relationships with current and future clientsLeading the development of proposals (strategic messaging and original content)Raising KPMG’s profile in the marketplace via industry involvement, publications, and conference presentationsPractice DevelopmentThe successful candidate will help develop internal teams through:Training and mentoring of staff and contributing to skills enhancementWorking with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to develop team capacityLeading risk management, quality management, and administrative activitiesWhat You Bring To The RoleBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or equivalent; MBA or other post-graduate studies or professional affiliations (e.g., P.Eng., PMP) preferred but not required10–15 years of industry experienceAbility to simplify problems and synthesize content into clear materialsProject planning experience with capital projects/programsProject/construction management and/or procurement experience with large capital projectsProject controls and contract management experienceSolid understanding of lifecycle activities supporting infrastructure assetsCommercial and contract management experienceExperience with alternative contract types (e.g., DBB, EPC, EPCM, DBFO, PPPs, CM) and development of these contractsStrong technical, analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesProven ability to manage multiple priorities and work within a multi-disciplinary teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong emotional and organizational intelligenceAbility to travel within Canada and abroad as neededPay Range and BenefitsKPMG BC Region Pay Range Information: The expected base salary range for this position is CAD 111,000 to CAD 199,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards.
