Job DescriptionSenior Development ManagerLocation: Burnaby, BCSalary Range: $150,000 - $170,000Potential Start: Fall (on hold)Our client, an established Vancouver-based real estate developer, is seeking a Senior Development Manager with extensive expertise in real estate development to lead and execute a diverse range of residential, mixed-use, commercial, and industrial projects. The role involves managing the entire development process from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, ambitious, and possess excellent schedule management skills. A strong network within municipal planning agencies and a deep understanding of municipal processes are highly advantageous.Responsibilities:Accountable for project schedules, budgets, and key deliverables such as drawings, permits, and budgets.Plan and manage project timelines, cash flows, and milestones using appropriate tools and resources.Lead multiple projects, coordinating internal and external teams to ensure successful completion, overseeing design, approval, and implementation phases.Act as the company's liaison with municipal staff and politicians to support applications and secure necessary permits for rezoning, development, and construction.Engage with the public and act as the primary contact within the community.Advise on land acquisition and planning, identify engineering opportunities, and report on risks and issues, especially during conceptual design and development permit phases.Prepare and maintain business plans and development proformas for accurate reporting.Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to development management, taking responsibility for strategic and business aspects.Travel as needed for company business.Undertake other related duties as required.Qualifications:Degree in Real Estate, Commerce, Urban Land Economics, Architecture, Planning, Legal, Engineering, or a related field.At least 7 years of relevant experience, especially in multi-family residential projects focused on completion and delivery.Proven leadership and team management skills.Experience with high-rise mixed-use developments.Ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion, including strata titling and air space parcel management.Strong knowledge of the real estate market, land regulations, and development trends.Established network within municipal, consultancy, and development sectors.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.Compensation:Base salary between $140,000 and $170,000, plus bonus and extended health care benefits.Similar Job Titles:Development ManagerVP, DevelopmentDirector, DevelopmentSenior Director, DevelopmentInterested?
