Submission Close Date: TBD Estimated Start Date: ASAP Estimated End Date/Duration: 1 Year Location:Calgary, Alberta – at client office 4 out 5 days per week The IT Project Cost Controls Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of IT projects. This includes budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure projects are completed within budget and financial risks are minimized. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, the financial team, and other stakeholders to provide accurate financial insights and support decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities:
        • Budgeting and Forecasting:
                • Develop and manage detailed project budgets, including initial budget setup, and ongoing adjustments.
                • Prepare and maintain financial forecasts for IT Projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
                • Work with project managers to ensure project budgets align with business objectives and resource plans.
        • Financial Reporting:
                • Prepare periodic financial reports for IT projects, including budget vs actuals, cost tracking, and status updates.
                • Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
                • Ensure all financial reporting complies with company and regulatory requirements.
                • Support internal and external audits as required.
        • Cost Control Analysis:
                • Monitor project expenditures and identify variances from budgeted amounts.
                • Conduct variance analysis to understand and explain discrepancies.
                • With the project manager, develop and implement changes to address budget variances and improve cost control.
        • Financial Risk Management:
                • Identify financial risks associated with IT projects and participate in developing mitigation strategies.
                • Monitor and report on the financial impact of risks and issues.
Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years in financial analysis, project accounting, or related role preferably within an IT environment
        • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar.
        • Knowledge of financial principles and practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
        • Proficiency in financial management software (SAP, Oracle, etc).
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
        • Attention to detail; ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in day-to-day work.
        • Strong organizational and time management skills.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
        • Ability to handle changing priorities and manage multiple tasks.
        • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
        • Familiarity with project management methodologies is a nice to have.
