Role Reporting to the Shipping Manager and working closely with Production, the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor will lead an efficient shipping, receiving and order‑picking department. The Supervisor will follow established food safety and quality procedures. Shift Start Time: 2:30 pm Responsibilities Manage shipping and receiving activities for raw materials, customer orders, pallet usage, product returns, ingredients and packaging supplies to ensure accurate, timely, efficient, and economical use of storage facilities. Ensure all paperwork is correctly documented and provided to the appropriate personnel. Manage order‑picking activities, ensuring orders are filled to customer specifications, accurate, and completed before cut‑off times. Direct and maintain first‑in, first‑out rotation in fresh/frozen storage and ensure housekeeping standards are met. Reconcile, supervise, and participate in inventory counts of cooler, freezer, and dry storage. Supervise shipping, inventory and order‑picking staff (including authorizing overtime and other requests). Provide leadership, communication, and motivation for staff. Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints promptly and respectfully. Liaise with Shipping Manager, Maintenance Manager, QA Manager, Production Managers and Supervisors to maintain effective relationships and provide input on shipping, receiving, order‑picking, inventory accuracy, control and storage. Be willing to occasionally adjust shift to supervise day, night and weekend shifts when needed. Participate in creating and maintaining records that track warehousing and shipping activities for analysis and improvement. Monitor aged inventory and work with Materials Manager to locate, stage and flag ageing inventory. Manage CHEP inbound and outbound. Drive continuous improvement. Act as backup for the Shipping Manager. Serve as trainer for all in‑house power equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing is an asset. Strong emphasis on computer literacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Strong mathematical and organizational skills. Ability to use and learn a Warehouse Management System. Possess strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills. Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts. Self‑motivated, high energy, and enthusiastic. High level of integrity and work ethic. Continuous learner willing to embrace change. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and pay attention to detail. Ability to assess, work under pressure and prioritize.
