OverviewOur Staff SW Engineer is a senior member of a team of engineers specializing in software development for our Mobile Products. This is a hybrid position; you are expected to work on-site at the Richmond office from Tuesday-Thursday and can work remotely on Monday and Friday, unless otherwise communicated.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and delivery of software solutions for our next-generation Mobile productsDefine, implement, and maintain robust software architectures for Mobile products, ensuring scalability and reliabilityCollaborate with the Product Management team to define and implement feature roadmaps and release schedulesEnsure the timely delivery of high-quality software for all stages of productionParticipate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practicesWork cross-functionally to ensure cohesive product development and integrationTroubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, ensuring robust and reliable software performanceProvide technical mentorship to the SW Engineering team, fostering knowledge sharingRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in software developmentExtensive experience with embedded Linux developmentKnowledge of Linux networking stack and related networking protocolsExperience with cellular wireless protocols: 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G/NRExperience with WiFi protocol stackExperience in data communications and knowledge of TCP/IP suite (IPv4/IPv6)Experience with audio processing and VoIPExcellent problem solver with systematic debugging skillsKnowledge of 802.11 WiFi family of protocolsExperience interfacing physical devices to the cloudExperience with the design and implementation of APIs and data abstraction layersExperience shipping high-quality software on embedded platformsExperience working with ODM and building products for mass productionBachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCompany Statement/ValuesAt NETGEAR, we are on a mission to unleash the full potential of connectivity with intelligent solutions that delight and protect.
