Warehouse Manager

Our client, a long-established Canadian retail group with multiple national banners and a rapidly growing store network, is seeking an experienced and operationally exceptional Warehouse Manager to lead their high-volume bonded warehouse. As the central hub for all inbound and outbound product movement, the warehouse plays a mission‑critical role in supporting store performance across the country — and this leadership role sits at the heart of that operation. With complex merchandise flow from overseas suppliers, strict customs regulations, and a large volume of SKUs moving through the building each week, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for creating order, accuracy, and momentum in a highly dynamic environment. This position calls for a confident, hands‑on leader who can guide a sizable workforce, elevate operational standards, and ensure inventory moves seamlessly and compliantly from port to store. Description Bonded Warehouse Operations Oversee all incoming and outgoing product movement within a bonded warehouse, ensuring compliance with Canadian customs regulations. Maintain meticulous documentation and accuracy to meet all regulatory and audit requirements. Ensure secure handling and controlled flow of goods subject to customs oversight. Inbound Logistics & Inventory Control Manage the full receiving process for overseas shipments and inbound containers. Organize and direct box counts, reconciliation, and product routing across a large volume of SKUs. Ensure accurate allocation of merchandise to retail stores based on buying and planning directives. Maintain strong inventory controls, cycle counts, and accuracy standards. Outbound Shipping & Store Support Oversee shipping of fixtures, supplies, and merchandise to all retail locations across the country. Ensure orders are accurate, prioritized appropriately, and dispatched on schedule. Work closely with store teams to support operational requirements and major initiatives. Leadership & Workforce Management Lead, develop, and motivate a warehouse team of 50+ staff, ensuring strong performance, engagement, and accountability. Set clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, safety, and workflow execution. Support recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management. Growth & Multi‑Site Operations Manage or support the integration of a second warehouse located 15 minutes from the primary facility. Coordinate resources, people, and processes across multiple sites as operations expand. Identify opportunities to streamline movement between buildings and optimize capacity. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Identify and implement improvements to warehouse layout, workflow, and operational systems. Enhance processes to increase throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and improve accuracy. Ensure all safety, equipment, and compliance standards are maintained across the warehouse. Requirements Experienced warehouse or distribution leader with exposure to bonded warehouse operations preferred. Proven ability to manage large teams in a high‑volume environment. Strong understanding of inventory flow, logistics processes, and regulatory compliance requirements. Exceptional organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate hands‑on when needed. Experience in multi‑site warehousing or scaling operations is an asset.
