Warehouse Manager

**Overview**

The role of Warehouse Manager involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a single distribution center. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage the picking and shipping teams, set performance goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching and encouragement. In addition, the Warehouse Manager will develop new KPIs to enhance warehouse operations and cost control.

As the leader of the largest department in the company, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for achieving 100% schedule attainment and 100% picking accuracy. This position may also support the efforts of the inventory team as needed, in order to ensure seamless and efficient warehouse operations.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to ensure the successful operation of the distribution center.

**Job Duties**
- Consistently review the varying daily outbound schedules to ascertain where all orders are within the order processing cycle. Develop an unmatched knowledge of all orders in the system, and their progress towards completion and final shipment.
- Using a keen sense of prioritization, time management, resource juggling, and leadership, work with the lead hands and employees to ensure that all orders are packed timely, efficiently and accurately
- Manage a team of warehouse employees, including collaboration with HR on the hiring, attendance, time management, performance and disciplinary actions
- Responsible for building a culture within the warehouse staff where 100% Schedule attainment with 100% picking accuracy is both an expectation and a reality
- Enforce HR and/or corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Support the inventory process, up to and including sharing resources to ensure accurate inventory data is maintained
- Ensure all orders are shipped on time, in full, and with good quality to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules
- Manage, monitor, coach and counsel staff to perform functions in an efficient manner and drive the productivity savings to the bottom line
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of staff performance/time management, supplies, or equipment.
- Manage the upkeep and regular maintenance of all related products used within the warehouse (i.e. Strapping machines, pallet jacks, forklifts, racking, etc.)
- Manage the flow and cost of supplies used within the warehouse environment (Strapping, PPE and other H&S equipment)
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; adjust where necessary
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving
- Manage and support the upcoming launch of an e-commerce direct to customer shipping platform
- Perform other duties as necessary

**Requirements**:

- Ability to be a “Hands - On” Manager that is not afraid of getting their hands dirty and doing everything necessary to get orders out on a safe, timely, efficient, and accurate manner
- Supervisory experience in a high volume, high sku count distribution warehouse environment a definite asset
- Supervisory / Management experience of teams over 20 warehouse workers
- Experience working in an environment with manual receipt, pick and ship processes as well as
- high volume computer generated inventory control (barcoding, RFID) a definite asset
- Experience in e-commerce warehouse operations
- 5+ years of direct work experience in a warehouse management function or supply chain management position
- Direct knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with **Sage Business Vision** considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation, with good writing skills

- Excellent planning and resource allocation skills
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift license considered an asset
