Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic

What You Will Do Assist with investigation, diagnosis and root cause analysis. Mentor & train operators to properly inspect, service and maintain assigned units. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of service equipment. Understand the mechanical, iron and electronics preventative maintenance process. Understand all aspects of STEP equipment maintenance and support. Attend and participate in all weekly safety meetings and safety drills. Respond to emergency situations; provide on‑the‑job training with crew members to ensure the security of personnel, equipment and the environment. Have a thorough knowledge of all proper STEP safe work procedures and practices to manage each task safely and efficiently, ensuring that professionals, the public and the environment remain protected. Excellent ability to think quickly and make the most effective decisions in high‑pressure situations. Provide input on root cause fact‑finding, develop and execute a post‑failure strategy. Ability to work as part of a team; strong sense of teamwork. Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and oral. Duties require being “On Call” 24‑7 during a defined rotation.
