We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Associate Director, Program Activation to lead and execute impactful programs across Alberta’s life sciences community. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and deliver API’s programmatic activities, such as community events, company incubation, and training initiatives, with a strong emphasis on measurable results. You will work cross-functionally with internal and external partners to ensure the success of these activations, driving engagement and long-term value. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and skilled in delivering exceptional experiences across a variety of formats, including in-person events and hands-on training.

 

** Please note this position requires full-time on-site presence.

 

Key Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of programmatic activities that align with API’s brand and mission, including community events, incubation programs, and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to activate programs and placemaking across API sites, delivering seamless and impactful brand experiences.
  • Foster and manage external relationships with partners that enhance program reach and impact, acting as a liaison and between API and its community partners.
  • Manage the evaluation and execution of external sponsorships to support brand and program activation, ensuring meaningful engagement and value for all parties.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution of events, programs, and training activities.
  • Oversee and actively participate in logistics and execution, ensuring and securing high-quality selection of venues, delivery methods, catering, and other experiential elements.
  • Track program performance metrics and use data-driven insights to optimize activation strategies for maximum impact and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the Program Activation team.

 

Qualifications - (Education, Certification, Degree, Skills, Knowledge, etc.)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field


Experience:

  •  7+ years of experience in program development, experiential marketing, brand activation, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven success in delivering site-specific activations and branded experiences. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Experience creating interactive brand experiences beyond traditional event planning.
  • Familiarity with the life sciences, tech, or startup ecosystems is a strong asset.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, operational mindset.   


Working Conditions:

  • Required travel between Edmonton API sites.
  • This position requires you to be on site.
