Overview Of Responsibilities Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities efficiently and effectively under the direction of the Service Manager and Journeyman Electrical Technicians. Assist the Journeyman Electrical Technicians to service, repair and maintain a wide variety of Electrical systems including fire alarm, building controls and data. Electrical troubleshooting knowledge with a desire to learn how HVAC and plumbing systems operate. Assist with maintenance, service and replacement or repair of motor control centers, switches, breakers, switchboard components, fixtures, branch circuit wiring, transformers, motors, BAS wiring. Installing conduit systems. Assisting with shut-down, lock-out, and start-up of major building equipment. Assist with electrical installations, including EV charging infrastructure, lighting upgrades, panel replacements, service upgrades and small projects. Ability to adhere and uphold the safety protocols and measures put in place by Modern Niagara to ensure the safety of all employees. Perform additional related duties as required under the direction of the Service Manager or Journeyman Electrician. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Previous electrical experience in the commercial, industrial, institutional, multi-family residential and healthcare sectors considered an asset. Registered as an apprentice in Alberta. Knowledge of the Canadian electrical code. Experience with building automation, plumbing and HVAC/R considered an asset. Class 5 license with clean abstract required. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Able to work at heights with all necessary safety training completed. Safety conscience individual who respects and adheres to all safety measures whilst on site. Strong work ethic with impressive electrical problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Hardworking individual with a strong desire to learn and grow within their position. Ability to work on own initiative but also within a team. Positive and professional attitude.
