Position Summary The Procurement Specialist optimizes purchasing of direct materials (packaging and/or ingredients) for branded and private‑label brands, building “win‑win” partnerships with vendors. Primary Responsibilities Materials Management: Ensure timely availability and efficient allocation of materials across Riverside’s manufacturing sites by assessing requirements against inventories and monitoring industry trends. Order Management: Determine material requirements, create and review purchase orders, and follow up on goods movement to guarantee on‑time arrivals. Continuous Improvement: Participate in sourcing projects and collaborate with stakeholders to streamline procurement processes. Data Management: Maintain data integrity in SAP (master data, contracts, purchase orders) and support system updates with stakeholders. Cost Efficiency: Evaluate buying options to maximize cost savings and operational efficiency. Key Performance Indicators: Achieve internal KPIs such as inventory values and turns. Supply Management: Monitor demand to avoid shortages and manage vendor‑managed inventory (VMI) as required. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, transportation, marketing, packaging engineering and planning teams on projects and supply‑chain challenges. Supplier Relationship Management: Initiate, cultivate, and enhance vendor relationships, seeking win‑win outcomes. Core Values: Demonstrate respect, humility, ownership, and fun in all interactions. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned. Reporting Relationships The role reports directly to the Sr. Sourcing & Procurement Manager. Skills & Abilities Strong problem‑solving and solution‑implementation skills. Excellent presentation, collaboration, and listening abilities. Team‑player with energy, grit, ambition, and competitiveness. Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills. Intermediate computer skills, especially MS Office Suite. Adaptable communication style for diverse audiences. Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with business partners. Sound judgment and decision‑making based on analysis. High attention to detail and accuracy. Self‑starter with initiative and flexibility. Positive attitude and business acumen. Education & Qualifications Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering. 1–2 years of supply‑chain or procurement experience, preferably in fast‑paced food manufacturing. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas). Minimum of 2 years experience with SAP (or comparable ERP).
