We’re Heartwood Financial Group Inc., a new, Canadian alternative mortgage lending institution on a mission. We aim to offer mortgage brokers and their clients common sense lending, with fast turnaround times and strong broker partnerships.Business Development Manager, Heartwood Financial GroupWe’re seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to build and maintain relationships with mortgage brokers, drive referrals, and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of mortgage lending, Ontario broker networks, and non-B20 / private lending solutions.Responsibilities and qualifications in this role reflect our focus on growing broker partnerships and delivering compelling lending solutions.ResponsibilitiesBroker Relationship ManagementIdentify, onboard, and nurture strong relationships with mortgage brokers to drive loan referrals.Educate brokers on our lending products, policies, and value propositions.Serve as the primary point of contact for brokers, addressing inquiries, structuring deals, providing client solutions, and offering ongoing support.Business Growth & Sales DevelopmentDevelop and implement strategies to increase broker-generated loan volume.Conduct presentations, webinars, and training sessions for brokers on our lending solutions.Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and superior customer service.Performance Tracking & ReportingAchieve KPIs related to loan volume, broker engagement, and referral conversions.Maintain CRM records to track broker interactions, pipeline opportunities, and deal progress.Provide regular reports on broker performance and business development activities.QualificationsExperience: 3+ years in mortgage sales, business development, or broker relations, preferably in private lending or alternative lending.Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of mortgage lending, private lending solutions, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with fintech innovations and digital mortgage solutions. Knowledge of Ontario mortgage needs and customer demographics.Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with mortgage brokers and industry professionals.
