What does our Specialist Corporate Simplificationteam do?

We work with large corporates and ownermanaged businesses and their advisers, lenders and other specialists towind-down companies. This could include advice on how to:

Help corporate groups to rationalise their structures;

Develop strategies for the orderly wind-down of solvent business operations;

Provide a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary approach to mitigate risk for directors;

Extract value from companies for shareholders and stakeholders.

Our Corporate Simplification team focus onorderely wind downs and Solvent Liquidations which includes simplifyingcorporate structures by helping clients to reduce the number of companies inthe group and assisting shareholders to realise the surplus assets in theircompany.

Our clients include large corporategroups and owner-managed businesses, including high net worth individuals. We undertake and co ordinate a due diligence process on thecompanies, identify risk areas and work closely with our clients, other RSMspecialists, external specialists and legal advisors to create and implement co-ordinatedstrategies to resolve any issues.

Wedeliver projects which enable our clients to mitigate risk and wind-down companiesin a professional manner.

You could beworking with a wide variety of organisations, including large listed financialinstitutions, national retail chains, and well known companies, as well as someof our international clients that operate throughout the UK and beyond.

At RSM, you’ll be a key member of ourteam from day one. You’ll get involved in client work very quickly, initiallyworking as part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibility forprojects. Once you’ve completed your initial professional qualifications, thecomplexity of your workload will increase, and you’ll have the opportunity totake on more individual responsibilities and get involved in more challengingissues. With us, you’ll have the space to grow and be challenged.

Alongside hands-on experience, you’llbenefit from on-the-job training from more senior members of the team and gainaccess to our internal training courses that will help you develop in the role.With our support, you’ll become a true trusted adviser to your clients in thefuture.

When you join this team, you’ll firstwork towards the CPI qualification (Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency)followed by the AAT qualification with the Association of AccountingTechnicians. You will then have the opportunity to study towards the ACAqualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales(ICAEW), or your Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification with the Institute ofChartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) or with Chartered Accountants Ireland(CAI).

We’re on the lookout for enthusiasticself-starters who are always up for a challenge. Corporate Simplification is atechnically demanding discipline which also requires practical problem-solvingskills, so we look for students who are quick to grasp new subjects. It’simportant to have an inquisitive mind and pay close attention to detail. You’lloften need to review complex legal and technical information;prepare legal documentation and work closely with our clients so you’ll needexcellent written and verbal communication skills. We also need you to beproactive and organised as you will be working to strict legal deadlines. What separates us from our competitors is thefinancial acumen we demonstrate, and we expect that right from the start fromour people.

You will need:

112 UCAS points across 3 A Levels or anequivalent level 3 qualification, or 104 UCAS points across 4 ScottishHighers/Advanced Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level).

Please note, RSM does not acceptGeneral Studies, AS levels or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
